I am Glen Gartner, Coastal Journey's Captain, guide, mate, mechanic, and boat washer. After nineteen years as a mechanical engineer and a year of teaching 5th through 8th graders in the midwest, my wife, Lisa (an elementary teacher) and I moved to Tybee Island to explore our "after-kids" life. Here, I took on many marine-type jobs to earn my sea time (USCG 100 Ton Masters License) and to begin to learn all that nature has to offer in this area. After spending so much time on the water and with Savannah visitors, I decided to share my love and respect for the ocean and these beautiful salt-marshes with others.
